I’m Kayla Tahani Copeland, M.A., APCC, E-RYT-500. I am a holistic psychotherapist, professional yoga teacher, and artist.

My intention is to create heart centered work that invites you back into the realms of your own heart whether that be through the medium of oil paints on canvas, yoga asana and breathwork, or somatic psychotherapy, maybe a combination of these together.

I have been practicing in the healing arts since the early 2000’s when I was a teenager. I feel lucky to have moved through those challenging years with the tools I gained access to at the time through my yoga practice and yoga community. Now, I feel honored to serve my community within the healing arts and with the world.

Some of my work includes..

Teaching yoga professionally locally and abroad. I lead Yoga Alliance Approved Teacher Trainings in Santa Cruz, CA and Costa Rica. I facilitate international and local yoga retreats, workshops, private sessions, as well as weekly drop-in public classes at Pleasure Point Yoga in Santa Cruz, CA. I began practicing yoga at age 14 and love nothing more than sharing the gift that yoga has brought me (and continues to!) with my students.

Working with clients 1:1 therapeutically. My approach is rooted in Gestalt therapy, a here and now focus, that incorporates somatic psychotherapy and mindfulness, to gain access to the psyche through the deeper wisdom of the body. I see you in your wholeness and believe that whatever you are experiencing is sacred and can be a pathway toward greater connection and fulfillment in your life.

An artist for life.. My grandmother and father, both artists, taught me through example the magical world of creativity through expression. Both avid painters of the ocean, a place in which I spent most of my time as a child, along the rugged edges of the Pacific Ocean in Northern California, my work has been greatly influenced by these people and places. Now, I have an eye for bright colors, “seascape abstractions” (as I like to call my paintings), and a feel that I hope will bring as much joy to your heart as I feel while making them.

hi there...
